Rocking The Florals

All clothing from Topshop!

Spiked rings and arrow bracelet from Forever21

This is the outfit I wore last night to see one of my favourite bands called Haim. I like the idea of being inspired by a band's dress sense when seeing them live, and Haim are fans of the t-shirt, the leather jacket and the odd floral - so why not combine them in my own way? If you haven't listened to this amazing band before (where have you been?) then click this link to see one of their videos. The three sisters are all lead singers for different songs, they all play guitar AND they all drum! Could you get a more multi-talented band?!

Have you seen any good bands recently? What did you wear when you saw them?

Sixties Chic

Skirt, top & jacket - Topshop
Wedges - New Look
Handbag - H&M

You may have noticed that I haven't been doing outfit posts recently, which is mostly down to the weather. I have about ten new items in my wardrobe which I am dying to create outfits with, but sadly I need sunshine in order to wear them. It's so hard to stay patient with this wind and snow when my spring purchases are calling out to me!

This is one of the only new spring outfits I can wear at the moment, thanks to my trusty leather jacket which keeps the chill away. I absolutely love the sixties revival, so I've gone monochrome with this striped top, adding a pop of pink with the a-line skirt.

Fingers crossed that the weather will be kinder to us soon. I have become addicted to checking my Met Office app! As soon as I see that sunshine icon, I will be jumping up and down with joy in one of my new pastel skirts and maybe even a crop top! Here's hoping!

Love for Leather

Dungaree dress - Miss Selfridge
Paisley jumper - Topman
Shoes and hat - Topshop

This dungaree dress is my absolute favourite piece in my wardrobe right now. I love wearing it over different clothes each time - a bodycon polo neck dress; a floral t-shirt with rolled up sleeves; a buttoned up blouse...the choices are endless!

Yesterday I had another styling session, this time located at The Thirdman cafe (in central Edinburgh) which not only offered the most delicious slices of rocky road, but also the perfect backdrop for our shoot. I loved the wallpaper there which you can see below.

The theme of the shoot was leather, as it is now becoming a wardrobe staple on the same level as our trusty denim pieces. In my opinion, leather is the best investment in fashion you can make as it lasts a lifetime. My Topshop Boutique leather jacket was expensive to buy but when I think about costs per wear, it's been completely worth the price tag. If you're not so convinced then vintage leather jackets can be a cheaper alternative. Other leather pieces you might want to try are shorts, skirts and dresses. Iris & Ink on TheOutnet.com do some beautiful pieces which feel buttery.

Next week's shoot will be for Scotland on Sunday and sounds very glamorous as it's inspired by Elizabeth Taylor!

Faux Fur Fever

Fur coat - Warehouse
Leggings - Boohoo
Boots - Topshop
Handbag - Topshop

In Scotland, there is only one way to stay warm and stay stylish in winter when you leave the house: get the fur out! The quality of faux fur coats appears to be improving each year and there are now so many different styles to choose from. I bought a shaggy fur coat with patches of brown and cream two years ago, but this year I wanted to find a simple black fur coat. I was so excited to find this one from Warehouse. It's so soft and everybody loves getting hugs from me when I wear it!

My other new purchase that I'm obsessing over are these burgundy boots. I was surprised at how comfortable they are and I love the buckles on the sides.

So that's me sorted with my winter coat and winter boots! Have you got your's yet?

P.S. I am now listing links for all my new purchases to the product's webpage. That means if you want to buy any of my new items, you can do it instantly. If the item I'm wearing is old, I will link to the website instead.

Baroque n' Roll

Baroque print leggings - Boohoo.com
Dress, necklace & boots - Topshop

This is probably my favourite outfit to wear at the moment. The dress is so versatile and sometimes I style it like a top by wearing a skirt over it. The roll neck is perfect for keeping warm and with my leather jacket added, I'm good to go!

I'm also obsessed with baroque at the moment, and ordered myself two pairs of baroque leggings from Boohoo.com. This is my day-wear pair and the other pair are metallic and glamorous for going out at night.

I hope you're all having a fab weekend,

Monochrome Co-ord Look

Jacket, shorts & top - Topshop
Handbag - H&M

I bought this matching floral print outfit a few months ago, and love wearing the pieces either together or separately. Today I have dressed head-to-toe in monochrome, however I usually add pastel colours with a mint vest and lilac tights. The most popular co-ordinated outfits at the moment are pyjama style, boucle and printed. The look is very bold, so it's best to keep the rest of your outfit reasonably plain.

This week I will be setting up the J.W. Anderson collection in my Topshop store. We will have a huge range of his quirky collection so if you live in Edinburgh, head along to the Princes street store from Friday onwards, and grab a piece designed by one of Britain's hottest new designers.

Sunset Stroll

Leather jacket - Topshop Boutique
Dress - Topshop
Butterfly necklace - Miss Selfridge
Brogues - Urban Outfitters

This was what I was wearing when I went for a stroll at Crammond while the sun was setting. For a change, my outfit post was taken by my best friend rather than me and my self-timer!

Unfortunately, you can't quite make out the detail of my dress but the bottom half has tiny pleats like a crinkle effect, with black polka-dot sheer panels. It's a very feminine dress so my leather jacket balanced out the look.

Pastel Colour Blocking

Pink blazer - ASOS
Mint vest top - River Island
Lilac Jeans - Topshop
Pink brogues - Schuh

It's just a few days until Spring officially begins so my outfits are becoming a lot more colourful! I'm sure you are all aware that pastel colours are a big trend this Spring/Summer, although I have been a fan of wearing them for a couple of years now. Lilac is possibly my favourite colour of all, so these pale lilac Baxter jeans had to be mine! I wore this outfit at work today and on my way I had my grey cape over the top which actually looked even better.

Today's Oriental Look

Oriental jacket - H&M
Gold tweed shorts - Sister Jane
Black top - H&M

Today I'm wearing a silky jacket which I bought recently at the bargain price of £15! The shape of it makes me feel super chic and elegant. I decided to pair the jacket with my gold shorts which really brings out the colours of the print (although you don't notice this so much in the photo.) Is anyone else finding it hard to dress for this in-between weather? In Edinburgh it's been sunny but the cold wind stops you from revealing the tiniest bit of skin!

Did everybody enjoy the collections at Paris Fashion Week? Chanel's collection blew me away. Karl Lagerfeld's main theme was crystals which meant that many of the pieces were beautifully embellished, and I thought the collection looked really futuristic without looking ridiculous! I also loved the bejewelled eyebrows, and as always the dramatic set design looked amazing.

I hope you're all having a good week.

Got That Spring Feeling!

Jumper & Shorts - Topshop
Leggings - New Look
Locket necklace - Gift

It's now March and the little birdies are tweeting! Sounds like Spring. Looking at my wardrobe today I had to pick out a bright colour, floral print and my necklace even has a tiny bird on it! Now all we need is the temperature to rise and it'll be out with the thick knits and in with the cute little dresses!

To all my followers living in Edinburgh - I just want to let you know about tonight's Fashion Lates event at Topshop, Princes Street. It will be from 6pm until 10pm and involves lots of fun girly things to do with your friends. There will be free food and drink, a fab DJ, personal shopper style tips, free make overs and manicures, an edited pastel collection and a free sparkly clutch purse when you spend over £50. You should also make sure you're wearing your best outfit as there will be a photographer taking street style photos for the Tumblr website and the person who gets the most reblogs will win a Topshop voucher worth £250! Lucky girl whoever that will be!

Mary Katrantzou I Love You!

Top - Mary Katrantzou for Topshop
Jeans - Topshop
Watch - ASOS

Mary Katrantzou has been one of the most talked about designers for the past couple of seasons at London Fashion Week. Her designs feature the brightest and boldest of digital prints, with beautifully structured silhouettes. The most stylish of celebrities including Keira Knightly and Alexa Chung have been seen making an impact on the red carpet wearing her dresses. It is therefore no wonder that Topshop wanted her to be the next designer to collaborate with.

The collection was snapped up in a matter of hours - although there will be some of the pieces coming back into stock next week. However, my top was from a different collection also launched yesterday: Topshop 10 Years Supporting British Fashion. Did you know that Topshop sponsor key emerging designers and also offer them a free venue to showcase their collections? It's called the NEWGEN scheme and to celebrate the 10 years since it's launch, previous recipients of NEWGEN have created limited edition t-shirts for only £30. These designers include Erdem, Holly Fulton, Ashish, Christopher Kane and many more. Get your hands on them quickly before they sell out!

I hope you're all having a fabulous weekend,

New Year Outfit

Beaded Dress - Topshop
Slip - Rare
Heels - Red or Dead
Handbag - Faith

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all enjoyed celebrating in your most dazzling outfits! I am going through a bit of a twenties phase at the moment so this dress made me feel like a fabulous flapper girl! I bought it on sale at Topshop at a bargain price - from £110 reduced to £50, then I got my staff discount to reduce it even further! It's such a beautiful and elegant dress that I think I'll keep it forever.

What is your favourite era for fashion?

Thank You Santa!

Dress - Sparkle & Fade
Blazer - Topshop
Glitter boots - Schuh
Trilby hat - Primark

I hope you all had a lovely christmas and got some fabulous presents! A very style conscious Santa gave me glitter boots and a trilby hat as you can see in my picture. You may notice a new look to my outfit post, which was created by a roll of paper for my backdrop and a little bit of Photoshop! I am also thinking of investing in some good lighting and get back into photography - putting my degree back into use!

Do you have any New Year resolutions? What are your plans?

Christmas Eve Outfit

Dress - Topshop
Shirt - Oasis
Shoes - Barretts
Tights - Primark

Merry Christmas everyone! These pictures were taken on my iPhone at The National Museum in Edinburgh where I went with my family today. Got to rush off to work but first I have to tell you about my outfit! We're all dressing up at Topshop today and heading off for drinks afterwards so I thought this was the perfect christmas outfit with the red colour and a bit of sparkle! I am loving this embellished sheer shirt right now as it goes well under lots of my jumpers and dresses. Also, if you are heading to Primark sometime soon, I recommend their "super cosy tights" which are really thick but don't really look too thick!

Hope you all have a wonderful christmas,

Masquerade Outfit

Mask - LuvYaBabes (Manchester)
Wig - Ebay (seller: Uptrending)
Necklace and boots - Topshop
Dress - Rare

On Sunday night I went on my christmas work night out which was a masquerade! I had always wanted to attend a masquerade party, so I had a lot of fun choosing my mask and even went as far as buying a wig. I chose one that is a similar style to my own haircut and I thought a deep red colour would compliment the blue shade of my mask. A lot of my workmates thought it was my real hair that I had dyed! When I told them it wasn't, they all said I should go red! What do you think? My favourite part of the outfit is my new statement necklace which I think pulled the look together.

What outfit do you have planned for your christmas party this year?

My Party Dress

Sheer dress - Rare
Feather necklace - River Island
Tights and boots - Topshop

Here I am trying to hide my drunkenness for an outfit picture at my friend's cocktail party in Glasgow. As you can see, my style changes when I'm dressing up for a night out. I often like to wear a black dress which has something different about it. I most certainly can't do plain! Then I add the extra bits such as a statement necklace and a pretty pair of tights. Tomorrow night I will be wearing this dress for the second time at my Topshop christmas masquerade party. I'll wear it with my gorgeous dark blue mask, a red bobbed wig and a gold necklace which is very fancy, like costume jewelry. I love dressing up! My motto is that it's better to be over-dressed than under-dressed. But keep it classy and not trashy!

Lace and Stripes

Striped top & tank top - Topshop
Lace hemmed skirt - Pins and Needles
Pink gem ring - Bulgarian market

Recently, I have had an obsession with black see-through clothes! There's just something about showing a bit of skin through a layer of black. I've got another black top that goes perfectly with this skirt which has a sweetheart neckline and sheer sleeves. What I like about my outfit today is the stripes on the top compliment the lace hem of the pretty skirt and it's more casual for going to work at Toppers today! I love having a job where I can look stylish all day long!

Velvet & Crystal

Velvet dress - Topshop
Platform wedges - New Look
Crystal necklace - vintage

Yesterday my latest Topshop order arrived, which included this velvet dress (still available online) and I'm planning on wearing it to a ceilidh with my workmates on Friday. It's so soft I could stroke it all day long! The crystal necklace, which used to belong to my mum's godmother, goes perfectly with it. My gold nails were done at Nails inc in Harvey Nics. It's a 'magnetic nails' manicure where a magnet is used on top of the nail varnish and creates an interesting effect.

I have now reached my 100th blog post would you believe! Thank you all for following and commenting, and a big thanks to my mum who encouraged me to start a fashion blog in the first place. She's also read every single post!

Hope you are all having a good week,

Polka-dots and Bows

What a beautiful sunny day it is - thankfully I'm not stuck at work and instead I went for a walk at Cramond with my mum. I'm dressed in Topshop head-to-toe which may be a regular feature on my blog as in a few days I start my job there! Hello discount!

Right, I've got to get back outside into the sunshine and read the stack of magazines I bought.

My Wonderful Wedges

Embroidered wedges - ASOS
Silk shirt - Blue Rinse
Rose gold watch - ASOS
Skirt - Zara
Belt - Topshop

On my previous blog post you can see that these beautiful embroidered wedges were on my wishlist. Well, I couldn't leave them on a mere wishlist for long and now they happily belong to me! Do you ever buy something you love so much you just want to kiss it? It had to be an air-kiss though to stop them getting stained with lipstick! The only down side of my wedges is that I can only wear them when I'm with very tall friends as they make me almost 6ft 3"!

My silk shirt is from a boutique in Leeds called Blue Rinse. I love how they reconstruct vintage shirts into modern shapes. You can also buy them in Urban Outfitters and Miss Selfridge. The colour range is gorgeous.
