This Week's Catch-up

It's been another busy week in the life of Lou Lou, and even though my holiday has just begun, I'm still going to be rushing about with all the plans I have made! I have two shoots in the next few days where I will be modelling rather than styling, so I'm looking forward to working with some talented creatives and of course, getting my make-up done! I am also going to London for a few days during Fashion Week. It'll be great to catch up with my friends and I have been given the amazing opportunity to dress models backstage at PPQ's show. It does worry me slightly that it's on Friday the 13th, so hopefully there won't be any nightmare situations during the catwalk show!

How many of you have bought Alexa Chung's book 'It'? I purchased it from Urban Outfitters the day it was released, although I wish I had been at Liberty in London where the It girl herself was signing books. If you haven't ordered your copy yet, I recommend that you do. Not only does the cover look super pretty, but the pages are filled with personal snapshots and doodles, amongst pieces of writing covering everything from Alexa's style icons to the more personal subject of heartache. I love that the book is like a scrapbook of her life, and I admire her even more after reading about who is, in my opinion, the most stylish woman of our generation.

A must-buy for any fans of Alexa Chung

Outfit planning for my week ahead

I hope you are all having a great week. Will any of you be in London during the shows?

London Fashion Week Favourites

London Fashion Week is sadly coming to an end today but I've had so much fun on my days off, looking at pictures and videos of so many shows.
As previously posted, Erdem and Felder/Felder were my favourites so I thought I'd leave you with my favourite looks from other collections I like. It also gives a rough idea of what trends to expect for Spring/Summer next year.

House of Holland - pleating detail and seventies disco

Holly Fulton - tropical holiday fun

Matthew Williamson - crochet & fringing

PPQ - bright colours and tribal prints

Richard Nicoll - chiffon and monochrome

What were your favourite catwalk shows at London Fashion Week? I'm really looking forward to Paris Fashion Week - especially Lanvin's collection!

LFW: Erdem

Oh Erdem! Is it possible for me to love your collections any more than I do? This was the show I was most excited about at London Fashion Week and it's really got me swooning!
The setting of a private garden was a clever choice as it reflects the fresh, romantic floral collection. A tent structure was built for the show which was designed by Erdem's boyfriend. Even more romantic!
I love how the show started with white lace florals on white sheer fabric, then some red appearing on white, and gradually more colourful florals were popping out in full bloom!
Go to Elleuk.com if you want to zoom into the details of the garments like I did with all 33 outfits! It's even more impressive up close.

LFW: Felder Felder

After a long anticipated wait, my favourite fashion week has kicked off with a bang. So far London Fashion week has hosted Hannah Marshall, PPQ and Louise Grey. At the moment Felder Felder is my favourite.

The show’s tone was set by a cover of “Born to be Wild” by Coco Sumner which I think was the perfect choice. German twins Daniela and Annette Felder stuck with the rock chick aesthetic, adding a more colourful eighties vibe. The collection was made from leather, silk and chiffon with crystals or feathers sewn on. I really like the prints which look skeletal in a subtle way.

I’m happy to see that bralets are still going to be a part of Spring/Summer next year as I still intend to buy one! Tutu skirts, skater dresses, collarless jackets and cutout ankle boots also featured in the show.

These looks are likely to be pulled off by young singers and starlets with the most attitude and killer style. I’m envious just thinking about them!
